Bathroom Products Made from PETROLEUM

So I thought maybe one or two bathroom products were made from Petroleum - like the odd ingredient and probably the plastic packaging - but I had no idea that fossil fuels are used to make just about everything and I've been smearing them over my face and body for years!! 😭

From Shampoo, to Bodywash, to Shaving Foam, Make-up and Toothpaste, most of our hygiene products are made from ingredients that come from petroleum!! (How many times have my kids swallowed their toothpaste 😩)

Many detergents, alcohols, emulsifiers and preservatives are derived from Petroleum - including Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS - which is in everything!), Isopropyl Alcohol (i.e. hand sanitizer), Benzene & Phenoxyethanol (especially in sunscreen), anything with the words Ethyl, Methyl, Butyl, Propyl and the list goes on!

To me this is super scary! Many of these ingredients are linked to health issues (as the refining process doesn't always get rid of the nasties) and we know that producing petrochemicals is a very polluting process to the environment and climate.

An excellent reason to choose products made from plant based and renewable resources!!

PS - NONE of our products contain Petroleum!!
